Edward B. Cook Dies In Cleveland

Former Manager Of Warwick Furnaces Here Is Claimed By The Influenza

Passed Away Sunday Afternoon After Week's Illness - Prominent in the Iron World - Associated With the Picand-Mathers Company

Ill for a week with influenza and pneumonia, Edward Bailey Cook, formerly of Pottstown, a son of the late Edgar S. Cook, died at his residence in Cleveland, Ohio, on Sunday afternoon at 4 o'clock. The word will cause deepest regret among Mr. Cook's host of friends here in his native town. He left here seven years ago to become general manager for the Picano-Mathers Co., a big iron manufacturing and mining firm, of Cleveland. Mr. Cook was an iron expert and was rated high in ability and executive powers in his profession. For years he was with Warwick Iron and Steel Co. in Pottstown and operated the blast furnaces here.

Mr. Cook was 39 years old. He married Mary Repplier, of Reading, who survives him with five children. His mother, Mrs. Josephine Cook, resides at Redlands, Cal. His brother, Dr. Joseph W. Coo, is now returning to Teheran, Persia, where he has been doing medical mission work for the Presbyterian Church. Another brother, Richard, resides at Easton, Pa., and a third brother, Harry, is in the Army.

While a citizen of Pottstown Mr. Cook was active in work for civic betterments. he was a valuable member of the Town Council for some years and his progressive leadership came to be recognized as a valuable asset. His removal to Cleveland was a community loss.

The remains are to be brought to Pottstown for burial.8
