Mrs. Cook Speaks to Missionary Society
The Women's Missionary Society of the First Presbyterian Church held a well attended meeting in the chapel, yesterday afternoon.
...
Mrs. Edgar S. Cook, of Redlands, California, was present at the meeting and gave a very interesting talk, touching on her travels in Jerusalem first, but more fully on her trip to France last summer when she visited the devastated sections. She gave an excellent description of both, also of Paris, and life on the great ocean liners. Mrs. Cook was very impressive in all her remarks and her observations were much appreciated.8 - Note: Three of Josephine's sons died early, while she was a widow in Redlands - Edward and Harry, months apart in 1918, and Joseph in 1932.
When Edward died in 1818, Josephine took in her newly widowed daughter-in-law Mary Repplier Cook and her five young children.
Then in 1932 Joseph died, Josephine again took in the new widowed daughter-in-law Alice Ensign Cook and her children. Mary Repplier Cook and her children moved nearby. - Note: California Death Certificate
