  • Note*: List of children - This database lists the eleven children named in John Child's 1742 will plus one named in town birth records but not the will. Birth or baptism dates found in town records are given for only four; birth order is otherwise unknown.

    In his book on the genealogies of early settlers of Watertown, Henry Bond lists two more children who are not named in the will and does not list four who are so named. Also, Bond lists more baptism dates; this compiler could not confirm any of those dates.

    In his book on the Child families, Elias Child lists the same children as Bond lists, and nearly the same baptism dates.3,5,6
