- Note: "...John Warren, born in England, May 1, 1585, who was forty-five years of age when he came to New England in 1630. He settled at Watertown, Massachusetts; he was warned and fined for not attending public worship and for harboring the Quakers; was admitted freeman May 18, 1631; was selectman 1636 to 1649; in 1635 he and Abraham Brown were appointed to lay out all highways and to see that they were repaired. His homestall of twelve acres in 1642... He then owned several other lots, aggregating about one hundred and seventy-six acres..."9
