    On 1 Mar 1771 Michael Walborn of Tulpehocken Twp. Berks Co. yeoman and Catharine his wife granted to Martin Stib of the same place his three shares and undivided sixth parts of the same lands. (Recorded 2/24/1796 Berks Deed Bk. 15, p. 70)

    Both of these deeds cite the same detailed history:

    Hermanus Walborn died seized of two contiguous tracts of 133 acres and 149 acres, which by his will he gave to his children (six in number).

    George Walborn and Michael Walborn by their indenture 20 Feb 1764 did grant unto Martin Stib their two shares.

    Martin Stib and Christina his wife (one of the daughters) in right of said Christina, George Walborn and Michael Walborn (other children) were then entitled to three equal sixth parts of the above described two contiguous tracts.

    Martin Stib and Christina his wife on 12 Sept 1764 granted to said George Walborn all three shares of the two tracts.

    George Walborn died seized of the three shares (except 12 acres sold to George Leshener) and which per his will dated 28 Nov 1770 were to be sold by his executors Lazurus Wengert and Martin Stib his brother in law. They sold the share in 1771 to Michael Walborn.9
  • Note: Probate:

    On 10 Oct 1801 Catharine Walborn widow and relict of Michael Walborn late of Tulpehocken Twp. Berks Co. yeoman deceased and Jacob Artz a friend posted the administrative bond.

    Inventory of the personal estate was taken 24 Oct 1801, and totaled £667.8.7, including about £420 of bonds, notes or debts of Peter Brown, Philip & Peter Labo, Leonard Stup, and George Winter.

    The account was exhibited 3 May 1803 or 7 Sept 1803, with a balance of £613.12.7.

    No guardian appointments were found.

    Note that no will could be found in Berks county will books, as cited by author Herman Walborn.3
