In deeds he is usually named as Martin Stib. One deed says "Martin Stib (alias Martinus Stup)". One deed is indexed as "Shoop", but the text is written as "Stoop" and the signature was copied as "Stib" or "Stüb". In church records he is "Stup" and "Stupp" (Humphrey), or "Stuep" (Wright) - Note: Bio reference:

In that book it is asserted that Martin was born 1729 in Tulpehocken Twp., and died 2 Jun 1811 in Heidelberg Twp. Berks County, testate with will proven 4 Jun 1811. Further, that he married first 28 Dec 1755 in Stouchsburg, Berks Co. Anna Christina Walborn, daughter of Johann Herman Walborn, and she was born 15 Feb 1732, died 5 Aug 1800 in Heidelberg Berks Co, and was buried at Stouchsburg. They had eight children. Then Martin married second 7 Oct 1800 Magdalena Gebel. (Recorded at Stouchsburg.) They had one child. - Note: Martin Stib at times owned half the lands of Hermanus Walborn.
