Martin Batdorf immigrated to New York with the Palatines in 1710, thought to be a child immigrant widow Anne Batdorf. She appears in the Hunter and Simmendinger lists. In 1717 Martin Batdorf and Maria Elizabeth Walborn, both then single, sponsored a baptism. The strong tradition is that they married. They were in the Tulpehocken by 1727. He became a landowner in 1732, and was a trustee of the Tulpehocken Lutheran congregation in 1747.
