Notes

  • Note*: "Benjamin Yard...born at Trenton, in 1714. He married Ann Pearson...Their children were...4. Nahor, who married Betsay Biggs, daughter of Thomas Biggs, of England, who came to Trenton about 1750. He married Sarah, daughter of Alexander Biles, son of Stephen. They had children: Sarah died young. Anna, who married Ely Hutchinson, and for second husband Samuel Martindell. Joseph, who married Elizabeth Brinley, daughter of Jacob Brinley..."1
  • Note: Lee's book names a Stephen Biles as the father of Alexander Biles the said father of Sarah Biles Biggs. No additional evidence has been found to support Lee's assertion. A Stephen Biles is named in two other sources listed below. Please note that these could be the same or different persons.
  • Note: A Stephen Biles of Maidenhead married by New Jersey license 7 Mar 1737 a Keziah Hunt of Hunterdon County. Cook identifies her as a daughter of the Ralph Hunt of Hunterdon who died 1733. Note that this could well be a different Stephen Biles, as Alexander father of Sarah Biles Biggs had to have married by about 1747, so the Keziah Hunt marriage was too late.2,3
  • Note: A Stephen Biles of Hopewell, yeoman, administered the intestate estate of Mary Huit, bond dated 7 July 1749.4
