  • Note*: Researcher Janet Welsh states "Here again proof is needed, but Barbara was probably the daughter of Christian Blessing, an early settler in the Sand Hills. That a strong relationship existed between the Hummel and Blessing families can be proved by the Sand Hill Church records which show that the Hummels and Blessings were baptismal sponsors for each other's children."

    Note that the last daughter was born out of wedlock.4
  • Note: The Dauphin Orphans' Court dockets for 1799 record the appearance of Christian Hummel and John Hummel administrators of the estate of Barbara Hummel late of Derry Township deceased who produced their account showing a balance of £27.1.5.5
