  • Note*: Obituary, Philadelphia Inquirer, 26 Feb 1883: "Mr. Charles A. Repplier, president of the Beneficial Savings Fund Society, southwest corner of Twelfth and Chestnut streets, died at one o'clock yesterday afternoon at his late residence, No. 1426 Walnut street, in the eightieth year of his age. He had been sick but two weeks, the cause of his death being disease of the kidneys. Mr. Repplier has been president of the Savings Fund Society since 1853, and never missed a meeting. He was connected with St. Joseph's Hospital, and several years ago was a member of City Councils. He leaves a widow and one son."

    Death notice, same paper and date: "On the 25th instant, Charles A. Repplier, in the seventy-ninth year of his age. Funeral services at St. John's Church, Thirteenth and Chestnut streets, on Wednesday morning, at 10:30 precisely.5
  • Note: Will of Charles A. Repplier, of City of Philadelphia, merchant, written 1 January 1860. All of his estate real and personal is bequeathed to his wife Elizabeth M. Repplier, born Rees, to hold and to enjoy the interest for the period of her life, after which the estate goes to his son George Rees Repplier. Wife executrix. Witnessed by Patrick Quinn and P. F. Mulvey.
    Proven 5 March 1883. Wife, then residing 156 N. 21st street, states testator died 25 February 1883.
