- Note*: "John Moore's name appears in the list of freeholders of Newtown, L. I., December 4, 1666. Eleven landholders on the north side of Newtown agreed January 4, 1666/7, to enclose their premises in a single field to secure economy in the construction of the fences. John Moore was one of these. His name appears in the Dongan Charter, 1686."1
